AMD Accidentally Leaks RV730 Specs
Today AMD launched a new series of their workstation cards; FirePro. V5700 & V3700 are the first two models in this series with very affordable (for workstation cards) pricetags of $599 & $99 respectively. FirePro V3700 is available right away while the V5700 is expected to be available in September. On initial inspection the V3700 seems to be based on the RV620 GPU with 40 SP (Shader processors).
The interesting bit about this launch is the V5700 is based on the RV730 GPU, as seen in the picture on 3dprofessor.org. Now keep in mind the specs mentioned in the press release; 320 SP (Shader processor), 128-bit bus width, 512MB GDDR3, UVD2 etc. That would put the board at 454GFlops, not bad for a $109-$129 mainstream desktop product. AMD will be positioning this directly against the recently launched 9500GT and will be winning in most of the benchmarks easily. In fact AMD is already counter-attacking the 9500GT with a cut-down (128-bit) version of the 3850 (RV670) in China, this is a temporary solution until the desktop version of the RV730 hits retail in September.
